Extremely communicative. Communication has been top notch, which is greatly appreciated, especially when compared to other daycares. The organization really cares and listens to our concerns as parents, and we’ve never felt judged or afraid to speak up or question things when it came to our daughter’s care.

The teachers are so caring, kind and engaging and the communication between staff and parents was great. I always felt we could reach out to the Tinycare team and expect quick answers and feedback. We also really appreciated how they handled the entire COVID-19 situation.

Denise

My name is Denise and I am the Head Teacher for the Lafayette Toddler Program at Tinycare. I’d love to share some insight about me: I attended and graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Early Childhood Education!

I have had years of meaningful experience working with children of all ages on and off the spectrum. I have volunteered as an infant / toddler teacher, worked as a behavioral therapist, teacher's assistant, and a lead teacher since 2011.

I am passionate about building a strong foundation with children and their families – giving them my full support as their child gets to be a huge driving force in their education! I love giving children the opportunity to explore and have fun with their peers, building on life skills that correlate to daily life at home, and having intentional conversations about what sparks their interests and finding ways to incorporate them while making it fun, stimulating, and educational!

Lafayette Toddler is also focused on learning how to be independent, positive, and inclusive in society. Our class practices touch on the following: learning how to use our words (verbal language) and sign language (non-verbal language).

In my spare time, I love spending time and taking trips with my family (I have a toddler and an infant), trying new food and recreating recipes + baking up a storm, reading good books, and binge watching my favorite TV shows with an iced coffee or boba!

Prakruthi (Prak)

Hi there! My name is Prakruthi, but you can call me Prak (rhymes with “rock”). I am the Head Teacher In Training at Lafayette Toddler, working alongside Head Teacher, Denise. I have been working with children and in childcare for several years, in various types of jobs within that field. I have worked as a nanny for several families & their children of all ages, ranging from 2 years old to 15 years old. Additionally, I worked as a behavioral aide at a school specialized for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down’s syndrome, and other emotional/mental/physical difficulties. Through these various experiences, I have been able to gather a wide range of childcare skills, which I intend to further grow at Tinycare!

My primary hobbies are baking and cooking, both of which I took up during lockdown. I am a huge reader, and hope to reach my goal of 50 books this year! In my free time, when I’m not reading or baking, I love to take my Aussiedoodle, Winnie, to the park, as she’s a puppy and has endless energy.

My teaching style is primarily understanding what the children’s mindsets are for the day, and tuning in the rest of the day to that. Being aware of the overall mood for each child, and the children as a whole, can make a significant impact on how effective that day can be. I find it much more important to connect with the children, and make sure that they feel seen, heard, and present, over anything else.
